Exposed aggregate is a concrete mix made in a batching plant combining a mix of cement, water and aggregate. It is then poured into a concrete truck and brought to the job site where it is poured, screed and sprayed with a water based chemical to suppress the top layer of mud from drying completely. The next day or when suitable the top layer from the concrete will be washed off using a high pressure hose. The high pressure water peels off the top layer exposing the aggregate and cement below. The concrete will then be acid washed removing any dirt or oils that have been spilt on the concrete. Once the concrete is completely dry after the acid wash it will be sealed to prevent any yellowing, fading and staining from occurring.
